Robotic Surgery

Robotic surgery is considered as the most innovative and out of the box development in the minimal invasive surgery. It allows surgeons to perform surgery with the utmost precision, as it provides visualization and dexterity to perform complex procedures. It has changed all the equations with conventional laparoscopic and increased morbidity if performed by laparotomy. Many procedures and evidence have already demonstrated the attached feasibility and safety aspect of this technology in gynecology.

Surgeons have overcome a lot of difficulties appear with the laparoscopic surgery in the procedures of Gynecology procedures.

The main attribute with the robotic surgery is that the surgeon can easily control the endoscope through the use of operating robotic arms, foot, and padel. They just don’t need an assistant with robotic procedure. This involves a very complex and sensitive set-up on the console which enables the surgeon to work on the precise degree of movement of the instrument. It decreases the fatigue of the surgeon and resulted in more precise observation and precision

Many observations and studies have been conducted on hysterectomies compared operations conducted by robotic surgery and laparoscopic surgery. These observations demonstrated that robotic surgery was quicker, it greatly reduces the patient stay at the hospital and also resulted in minimal blood loss

Furthermore, surgery assisted with robot also has a great impact in oncology surgery. Many studies have claimed that – robotic surgery resulted in a great reduce blood loss in comparison to laparoscopic surgery.

The Da Vinci system, referred as robotic surgery, is used to perform the below mentioned minimally invasive surgical procedures in gynecology:

  • Hysterectomy
  • Myomectomy
  • Fallopian Tube Reversal Recanalization
  • Gynae Cancers
  • Benign Conditions Endometriotic Cyst of the Ovary and Dermoid Cyst
  • Infertility/Tubal block surgery
  • Utero –Vaginal prolapsed correction
